The McCarthy Cottage

The McCarthy Cottage

Lakeside Charm &
Modern Convenience.

Built in 1949. Rebuilt in 2020.

4 bedrooms, 3 baths, sleeps 13

This beautiful, brand new lake front home features 180′ of lake front property, with a floor plan that focuses on indoor/outdoor living and features stunning lake views from all rooms. With 3 bedrooms and a bunk room, it accommodates 13 comfortably. In addition, the rental includes use of a community tennis court.

The McCarthy Cottage got its name because our Granny McCarthy bought the property and built our camp in 1949. Five generations have run up and down those stairs to the lake, played kick-the-can on the lawn, and learned to play tennis on the clay courts. With the original property showing its wear, we made the decision in 2020 to completely rebuild the house. While the building is fully new, it still has its original charm (and some of the original knotty cedar/pine!) and is sure to preserve the memories for generations to come.

We’ve now been renting the house for one year, and we are amazed at the variety of renters who find rest, beauty, and fun at this house. From giant family reunions, to sophisticated foodie retreats, to destination Christmases, to honeymoons – there’s something for everyone here, and everyone says they feel right at home. That was our goal- keep the homeyness and simplicity of our original camp with the added comfort of all things clean, soft, quiet, and AIR-CONDITIONED elements!

A quote from one of our renters

We felt very lucky to have the opportunity to rent such a beautiful home. The home itself is impeccable as well as all of the high end appliances and furniture. Beautiful views, nice lake access, friendly neighbors met during fun walks along the private road, and a perfect porch. The host, Betsy, and her family welcomed us warmly and made it possible for our family to have a very lovely time in their special cottage.
